About Us

The Caring Companion is exactly what it says on the tin . From helping out with shopping , cleaning your home or just a friendly chat and cup of tea . You will be greeted with a smile from someone who genuinely does care.

My name is Laura and I would like to explain a little about myself and my business . I first found my love for befriending when I ran music workshops in local care homes , to see the smile on the residents faces was priceless .I loved hearing all about their lives and interests . I used to sit after the session had finished to spend time with them and get to know them . Just that small chunk of my time made such a huge difference in theirs. Fast forward a few years and I started working for a home care company which initially I loved but the lack of empathy from some staff that called themselves carers was truly disturbing, and the ones with a caring nature were just rushed off their feet with 15 minute time slots. There was no time for a nice chat to get to know them at all , and I saw first hand just how loneliness was a huge factor in our small town.   A few years on and I started my own business as a Singing/Musical theatre teacher which I still do and absolutely love  but this is mainly evening work. I am a volunteer as an NHS companion at a local hospital and also work closely with my Church as a trustee . As I had a  few daytimes spare I decided to start up another business that I would be just as passionate about as my teaching and therefore have come up with the caring companion and haven't looked back . I can honestly say I love my job and my clients and feel blessed in many ways.
